Silicon Labs in Austin, TX is hiring an RF Validation Engineer II to join a fast-paced IoT validation team. The role focuses on RF and PHY‑MAC design validation for low-power, high-performance SoCs used in Zigbee, BLE, Wi‑SUN and other wireless IPs.

You will work across silicon bring-up, lab measurements, and cross-functional teams to ensure performance targets and MTTR are met, shaping future wireless connectivity solutions for Smart Home, Industrial IoT and other markets.

Qualifications

• BSEE or MSEE required; 1–3 years in mixed-signal SoCs with RF signal chain preferred.
• Experience with Python or similar high-level modeling language for communication systems.
• Strong understanding of analog signal fundamentals and RF components.
• Experience with RF signal chains (LNAs, mixers, PAs, A/D, D/A).
• Experience with digital modulation formats (MSK/FSK, OQPSK, OOK/ASK).
• Proficient in taking measurements with RF lab instruments (signal generator, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, oscilloscope).
• Knowledge of Bluetooth Low Energy, 802.15.4, 802.11 WiFi etc.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; self-driven.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to initial development of Zigbee, BLE, Wi‑SUN, ZWave, MBus, and proprietary PHY configurations for Silicon Labs RF SoCs.
• Perform pre-silicon testing using block/chip-level test benches and FPGA emulation.
• Bring-up and validate new Silicon Labs IP on silicon; support cross-functional teams.
• Perform lab measurements including RX sensitivity, frequency/baudrate/deviation tolerance, blocking, TX output power, etc.
• Support IC Design, Applications, FW, PTE, SQA, Systems, Modules teams with RFIC performance insights and data analysis.
• Guide the SW team on RF software implementations for scalable test infrastructure.
