Job summary

Silicon Labs seeks an experienced RF Validation Engineer II in Austin to drive RF and PHY-MAC design validation for wireless IPs in low‑power, high‑performance SoCs. You’ll bridge pre-silicon and post-silicon efforts across Zigbee/BLE/Wi‑SUN/802.11 and other wireless tech.

You will own lab measurements, provide RF insights to multiple teams, and contribute to silicon bring-up and optimization in a fast-paced IoT environment.

Qualifications

• BSEE/MSEE required with 1-3 years in mixed signal SoCs with RF signal chain.
• Experience using Python or other high-level modeling language/tool for designing and evaluating communication systems and algorithms.
• Strong grasp of analog signal fundamentals and RF components.
• Experience with RF signal chains including LNAs, mixers, PAs, A/D and D/A.
• Experience with digital modulation formats (MSK/FSK, OQPSK, OOK/ASK, etc).
• Proficiency taking measurements with standard RF lab instruments (signal generator, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, scope, DMM, SMU).
• Knowledge of Bluetooth Low Energy, 802.15.4, 802.11 WiFi standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Demonstrated ability to generate high output in a self-driven manner.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to initial development of Zigbee, BLE, Wi-SUN, ZWave, MBus, and proprietary PHY configurations for Silicon Labs RF SoCs.
• Perform pre-silicon testing utilizing block or chip-level test benches and FPGA emulation.
• Bring-up and validate new Silicon Labs IP on silicon with cross-functional teams.
• Perform lab measurements including RX sensitivity, frequency/baudrate/deviation tolerance, blocking, TX Output Power, and more.
• Support IC Design, Applications, FW, PTE, SQA, Systems, Modules teams with RFIC performance insights and data analysis.
• Provide guidance to the SW team on RF software implementations for scalable test infrastructure.
