Job summary

Vivmark Residential, formed by the merger of AvalonBay Communities and Equity Residential, is seeking an IT Field Specialist in the Seattle area to manage IoT and smart building systems across properties. You will survey sites, advise on technology upgrades, and supervise vendors to ensure reliable connectivity and security.

The role requires strong LAN/WAN knowledge, project management experience, and the ability to work independently across multiple properties within the Community Technology

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree; 5+ years in a technical field with low voltage cabling, A/V systems, entry systems or ISP experience.
• Understanding of LAN/WAN technologies.
• Experience managing technical projects.
• Excellent written, verbal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Reviews all IT/IoT systems on properties and assists with department owners to ensure systems function properly.
• Supports Maintenance Supervisors/Directors and Property Managers in IT support activities.
• Assists in evaluating tech needs across properties and markets.
• Recommends and participates in optimizing technology, including video, audio, door entry, surveillance.
• Assists in preparing annual operating budget for voice, video and data.
• Maintains knowledge of new tech and programs and applies them.
• Manages internet and IoT systems at properties in assigned markets (wifi, cameras, access controls, A/V, VoIP).
• Partners with investment and development teams to scope projects and build budgets.
