Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Melbourne, FL seeks a Staff Systems Engineer – Ionizing Radiation Lead to lead radiation hardening efforts across design, development, and production. You will derive design criteria, perform analyses, and produce DARs and test artifacts to ensure survivability of weapon systems under ionizing radiation.

The role requires DoD clearance, 12+ years of engineering experience (or MS/PhD variants), and up to 20% travel.

Qualifications

• BS in STEM with 12 years of engineering experience; MS with 10 years; or PhD with 7 years.
• Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain interim Top Secret.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Ionizing Radiation hardening effort across development phases.
• Develop NH&S Design Analysis Reports and system test plans.
• Prepare and present Nuclear Survivability artifacts for requirements compliance.
• Evaluate components for radiation environments and system performance.
• Collaborate with DoD customers and other agencies.
