Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer for Ionizing Radiation in Melbourne, FL. You will lead radiation hardening efforts, develop design criteria, and prepare NH&S DARs and test plans to ensure weapon system survivability across electromagnetic, radiological, and thermal environments.

You will collaborate with DoD and industry partners, apply rampt test strategies, and guide component and system-level analyses through development and deployment phases, traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• Lead nuclear hardness analysis across MDE to deployment.
• Develop design criteria using modeling, simulation, and tests.
• Prepare DARs and test plans for NH&S.
• Present artifacts supporting requirements and traceability.
• Evaluate rad-hard designs including TID, neutron effects, SEE.
• Collaborate with DoD customers and external labs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage ionizing radiation hardening efforts.
• Develop and document system-level NH&S design analyses.
• Create and execute test plans and verification reports.
• Ensure design compliance with nuclear threat environments.
• Communicate results to internal and external stakeholders.
• Support program reviews and risk assessments.
