Job summary

Aston Carter seeks an Accounting Analyst for an on-site, one-year contract in Riverview, FL. You will audit contractor invoices, validate hours/rates, and maintain KPI dashboards using Power BI.

Collaboration with operations and vendors is essential to ensure accurate, timely processing and robust audit trails. The role includes developing reporting on spend trends, headcount, and financial performance, with potential extension based on performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field preferred.
• Experience in accounting analysis in plant-level or industrial environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of Power BI or other reporting dashboards preferred.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
• Familiarity with Power BI dashboard entry and financial data visualization beneficial.
• AI experience with tools like Copilot preferred for enhanced analysis.
• Ability to maintain KPI and scorecard reporting and present findings clearly.
• Comfort with headcount and spend trend analysis and translating findings into actions.

Responsibilities

• Audit contractor invoices against contracts, scopes, and bids to validate rates, hours, materials, fees, and charges.
• Verify hours billed are fully supported by entries in the Alert Badge In/Out system.
• Collaborate with operations to clarify scopes and bid details for accurate invoicing and auditing.
• Provide detailed feedback on invoice status and reasons for rejections.
• Process resubmitted invoices with adequate backup documentation.
• Maintain a log of invoicing activity in a tracking system.
• Train internal invoice approvers and improve review/approval processes.
• Create and update KPIs and scorecards for invoicing, spend, and performance.
• Develop reports on spend trends, headcounts, and financial metrics.
• Prepare project-specific analyses on costs, utilization, and financial performance.
• Perform audits on financial records and invoice packages for compliance.
• Enter and maintain data in Power BI dashboards for analysis and visualization.
• Create documentation to substantiate invoice approvals/rejections for audit trails.
• Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and obtain supporting docs.
• Apply internal controls and 5-point checks for invoice review.
• Respond to additional audit/analysis requests as assigned.
