Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a reputable investment banking practice with a focus on M&A execution.
• Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities including accounting fundamentals, financial modeling, and valuation across multiple methodologies.
• Deep understanding of the full M&A process from mandate to close.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with client-facing material experience.
• Based in or willing to relocate to New York (on-site role).

Responsibilities

• Design, manage, and build complex quantitative analyses for sell-side and buy-side M&A mandates, including valuation and forecast models.
• Lead the preparation of pitchbooks, Confidential Information Memoranda, and other materials for live client engagements.

The Opportunity

This is a high‑ownership Associate or VP seat — level depending on experience — at a lean, specialist advisory platform where your work directly shapes client outcomes. You will play a central role in transaction execution, business development, and the continued growth of the advisory team, working closely with senior professionals across complex M&A mandates in a sector that is seeing significant deal activity.

What You’ll Do

• Design, manage, and build complex quantitative analyses for sell‑side and buy‑side M&A and advisory mandates — including valuation analyses, forecast models, merger models, and buyout models
• Lead the preparation of pitchbooks, Confidential Information Memoranda, and other transaction and marketing materials for live client engagements
• Drive administrative and process‑oriented activities throughout live transactions, ensuring seamless execution from launch through close
• Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external counterparties — clients, buyers, advisors, and legal counsel — across active deal workstreams
• Conduct research on sector trends, market dynamics, and relevant companies within the firm's coverage universe
• Provide guidance and mentorship to Analysts, supporting their technical development and contributing to a strong team culture
• Contribute to business development initiatives, marketing activities, and broader firm objectives

Who You Are

• 3+ years of experience in a reputable investment banking practice with a focus on M&A transaction execution
• Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities including accounting fundamentals, financial modeling, and valuation across multiple methodologies
• Deep understanding of the full M&A process and key commercial considerations at each stage — from initial mandate through close
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing and presenting client‑facing materials
• High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workstreams effectively in a fast‑paced environment
• Based in or willing to relocate to New York (on‑site role)

Preferred Background

• Prior experience advising companies, investors, or financial sponsors in the knowledge economy — consulting, professional services, technology services, IT outsourcing, staffing, or adjacent sectors
• Familiarity with Capital IQ, FactSet, or PitchBook
• Experience supporting both sell‑side and buy‑side M&A transactions across the full deal lifecycle
• Demonstrated experience mentoring Analysts and contributing to team development
• Strong sector research capabilities and an established understanding of relevant market dynamics
• Prior participation in business development initiatives, marketing activities, or firmwide strategic projects
