Job summary

Selby Jennings partners with a globally recognized elite boutique investment bank to recruit a Vice President for its Technology advisory team in San Francisco. The role leads M&A deal execution, modeling, and client-facing materials in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

You will mentor junior bankers, manage multiple workstreams, and stay ahead of industry trends in the Consumer tech space, delivering strategic advice and superior execution to high-profile clients.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of full-time Investment Banking experience with emphasis on M&A.
• Expertise in building complex financial models and conducting valuation analyses (DCF, LBO, precedent transactions, comps).
• Experience preparing high-quality client-facing materials and transaction documentation.
• Solid foundation in accounting, corporate finance, and deal structuring.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to present ideas clearly and persuasively.
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborative mindset and strong work ethic with a drive for excellence.

This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned investment banking professional to play a key leadership role in deal execution, client relationship management, and strategic advisory within a high-performing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the execution of M&A transactions, including buy-side and sell-side mandates, across various Tech sub-sectors.
• Oversee the development of detailed financial models, valuation analyses, and strategic presentations.
• Drive the preparation of marketing materials such as pitch books, Confidential Information Memoranda (CIMs), management presentations, and other client deliverables.
• Collaborate closely with Managing Directors and other senior bankers to originate new business opportunities and maintain strong client relationships.
• Mentor and supervise junior team members, providing guidance on analytical work and professional development.
• Stay current on industry trends, market developments, and competitive dynamics within the Consumer sector.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A minimum of 4 years of full-time experience in Investment Banking, with a strong emphasis on Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A).
• Proven expertise in building complex financial models and conducting in-depth valuation analyses using methodologies such as DCF, LBO, precedent transactions, and comparable company analysis.
• Demonstrated experience in preparing high-quality client-facing materials and transaction documentation.
• Strong foundation in accounting principles, corporate finance, and deal structuring.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively.
