Job summary

Misumi Ventures is launching a new investment arm within MISUMI Americas, focused on frontier hardware, robotics, and industrial AI. You will build the deal funnel, shape the fund’s external presence, support diligence, and coordinate LP reporting from San Francisco Bay Area.

As the fund’s first dedicated investment professional, you’ll report to the Managing Partner and collaborate across MISUMI’s manufacturing continuum, sourcing, engineering and partnerships to drive portfolio growth.

Qualifications

• Two to four years in venture capital, investment banking, management consulting, corporate development, or an operating role at a hardware or deep-tech company.
• Demonstrated technical fluency in mechanical/electrical engineering, robotics, manufacturing or related field.
• Strong written communication; memos, market analysis, and LP reporting are key tasks.
• Established relationships in venture, engineering or founder communities are a plus.
• Comfort operating without an existing playbook as this is a first investment fund.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing and co-investor relationships: build and maintain investor relationships; run first meetings; draft memos.
• Fund positioning and ecosystem presence: manage external presence, website, founder communications, and events.
• Diligence and portfolio support: conduct technical and commercial diligence; assist portfolio companies with recruiting and financings.
• Fund operations and LP reporting: quarterly reporting to LP; CRM ownership and data discipline.
