Job summary

MISUMI Americas is standing up its first U.S. manufacturing platform in Austin for frontier-technology customers, including humanoid robotics and aerospace.

We seek a founding Senior Vice President to lead facility stand-up, scale-up, and governance, reporting to MISUMI’s Americas leadership. The SVP will own P&L, drive a multi-year workforce ramp to 200+ staff, ensure export-control compliance (ITAR/CMMC), and build a high-performance culture with a founder’s mindset.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in manufacturing operations leadership with direct P&L ownership.
• Proven ability to stand up new manufacturing facilities (greenfield or brownfield).
• Deep fluency in precision manufacturing: CNC machining, FATP, NPI, and DFM.
• Experience serving demanding hardware customers — robotics, aerospace, defense, or similar sectors.
• Familiarity with U.S. export-control and government-contracting frameworks (ITAR, CMMC).
• Comfortable reporting to a board and to an international parent company.
• Builder's mindset with ambiguity and a hands-on founding role.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning of Austin facility and transition to a larger campus.
• Own the founding customer relationship and ramp production while adding capacity.
• Build out precision machining, FATP, and quality systems (FAIR, SPC, DFM).
• Execute a multi-year staffing ramp to 200+ personnel, with local partnerships.
• Establish governance, security, and workplace controls for government-adjacent work.
• Own the new organization's operating P&L and report to the Board and leadership.
• Recruit senior manufacturing and engineering leaders to build the team.
