Job summary

Integrity Commission in Tasmania seeks an Investigator (Complaints and Oversight) to independently conduct assessments and investigations of alleged misconduct, triage cases, and produce timely reports.

The role requires building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing high‑level advice to senior management, and completing pre-employment checks including Baseline security clearance and National Police Check.

Qualifications

• The role conducts assessments and investigations of alleged misconduct.
• Triage and assess compliance with legislation, policy and good practice.
• Prepare research reports, audits and other required output.
• Identify evidence, make findings and provide recommendations.
• Develop relationships with stakeholders and provide high‑level advice to senior management.
• Pre-employment checks including Baseline security clearance and National Police Check.

Responsibilities

• Conduct, independently and with others, assessments and investigations of alleged misconduct utilising the powers of assessors and investigators under the Act.
• Triage, review and assess whether the management of misconduct matters by public authorities complies with legislation, policy and good practice.
• Conduct audits, prepare research reports, conduct reviews of regulatory mechanisms monitored by the Commission, and complete other reports and projects as required.
• Consider and analyse evidence and make findings and recommendations.
• Prepare accurate, logical, succinct and timely reports and other written materials.
• Identify ongoing and emerging misconduct issues in complaints and oversight matters and prepare and provide reports to the Chief Executive Officer.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Provide information to stakeholders about good practice and policy and legislative obligations; and provide high-level advice to the senior management group.
• Perform other duties appropriate to the classification as required by the Chief Executive Officer and Director, Complaints and Oversight - Operations.
