Job summary

The Honolulu Police Commission seeks two Police Commission Investigator positions in Honolulu. You will independently conduct confidential investigations arising from complaints against the Honolulu Police Department and its members, interviewing complainants and witnesses and preparing investigative reports.

This role requires three years of investigative experience, a four-year degree or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Education: four-year college degree in related field or equivalent.
• Substitution: 4 years of work experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree.
• Three years of responsible investigative work experience.
• Valid driver’s license (Type 3) prior to appointment.
• Education verification may be requested.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze video evidence from body-worn and stationary cameras.
• Prepare comprehensive investigative reports documenting findings.
• Serve as duty investigator, handling walk-in and phone inquiries.
• Coordinate with agencies to process subpoenas and affidavits.
• Liaise between the Police Commission and Police Department divisions.
