University of Washington is seeking an Investigator to perform comprehensive fact-finding on a variety of civil rights cases related to Title VI/Title VII/Title IX, ADA, and related policies. The role supports equity, compliance, and student conduct processes within a collaborative framework.

The investigator will handle internal and external complaints, prepare detailed written responses, and may testify in related proceedings, contributing to proactive dispute resolution across departments.

Qualifications

• Deep working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations related to compliance with nondiscrimination laws.
• Excellent ability to be impartial and establish rapport with diverse community members.
• Ability to analyze information, evaluate results, and facilitate resolution of difficult challenges.
• Ability to manage issues of complex and extreme sensitivity with professionalism.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and plan work to meet deadlines.
• Experience preparing complex written reports and providing reliable testimony.

Responsabilités

• Investigate complaints within the University asserting violations of UW policies and applicable laws.
• Investigate external agency complaints and charges against UW (Title VII, ADA, Title IX, etc.).
• Conduct investigations in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations.
• Participate in external agency fact-finding and mediation conferences as necessary.
• Testify as a witness in internal proceedings related to misconduct as needed.
