Job summary

Retail First Corp. is seeking a hands-on Inventory & Workflow Manager to supervise daily operations, maintain inventory accuracy, monitor employee attendance and productivity, and ensure materials and work orders move efficiently through the facility.

This role requires active floor presence, collaboration with Finance to resolve discrepancies in BOMs, labor, and costs, and strong ERP experience, preferably Global Shop Solutions, plus bilingual English/Spanish communication.

Qualifications

  • Inventory-control, production-control, or manufacturing experience.
  • Previous supervisory or team-lead experience.
  • Experience managing employee attendance, productivity, and daily assignments.
  • Knowledge of BOMs, work orders, inventory transactions, and job costing.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify production-floor discrepancies.
  • Experience using an ERP or manufacturing-management system.
  • Global Shop Solutions ERP experience preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organization, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a visible, hands-on presence on the production floor.
  • Supervise employees and assign daily work.
  • Confirm employees report on time and clock in and out correctly.
  • Monitor attendance, breaks, productivity, and completion of assignments.
  • Address attendance, performance, and workplace-conduct issues according to company policy.
  • Ensure employees remain productive and follow established priorities.
  • Communicate instructions clearly to English- and Spanish-speaking employees.
  • Maintain accurate inventory quantities, locations, and ERP transactions.
  • Perform cycle counts and investigate inventory discrepancies.
  • Create, review, track, and close manufacturing work orders.
  • Review BOMs and confirm the correct materials are available for production.
  • Stage and issue materials to work orders.
  • Monitor work in process and identify shortages, delays, or bottlenecks.
  • Work with Finance and Accounting to reconcile inventory and production records.
  • Investigate discrepancies involving labor hours, material usage, scrap, inventory, work orders, and job costs.
  • Compare ERP records with actual production-floor activity and physical inventory.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete ERP transactions and help prevent recurring errors.
  • Review open work orders and ensure materials, labor, quantities, and completion information are reported correctly.
  • Assist Finance with month-end inventory reconciliation and work-in-process reporting.
  • Identify the causes of cost variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with production, purchasing, engineering, shipping, finance, and management.
  • Enforce safety, housekeeping, quality, and company procedures.
  • Train employees on inventory, timekeeping, workflow, and ERP procedures.
  • Report attendance, inventory, workflow, financial, and employee-performance concerns to management.

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Inventory & Workflow Manager to supervise daily operations, maintain inventory accuracy, monitor employee attendance and productivity, and ensure materials and work orders move efficiently through the facility.

This manager will maintain an active presence on the production floor, ensuring employees are clocked in, working on assigned tasks, and following daily priorities. The position will also work closely with the Finance and Accounting team to identify and resolve discrepancies involving inventory, labor, work orders, material usage, job costs, and production reporting.

Experience with bills of materials (BOMs), manufacturing work orders, and Global Shop Solutions ERP is strongly preferred. The ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish is preferred.

  • Experience supervising production employees.
  • Experience with cycle counting, material staging, inventory reconciliation, and workflow coordination.
  • Experience maintaining item records, BOMs, routings, and work orders.
  • Familiarity with job costing, cost variances, month-end inventory reconciliation, and work-in-process reporting.
  • Familiarity with production scheduling and continuous improvement.
