Job summary

Texas Internal Pipe Coating (TXIPC) is seeking a Materials and Asset Clerk to support the Inventory Manager in maintaining accurate records for materials, equipment, tooling, and fixed assets. You will assist with cycle counts, data entry in the ERP, and reporting to ensure timely availability of inventory for production.

The role requires attention to detail, strong Excel skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with Production, Procurement, Sales, Administration, and Finance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree or coursework preferred.
• 2-4 years inventory, warehouse, or production experience preferred.
• ERP system experience required; SAP experience strongly preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and ability to work cross-functionally across departments.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Interest in growing within the inventory function over time.
• Flexibility for occasional weekend work and on-call inventories; lift up to 55 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day inventory activities per policies and controls.
• Perform cycle counts and assist with audits and reconciliation.

Job description

The Materials and Asset Clerk supports the Inventory Manager and inventory team in maintaining accurate records for materials, equipment, tooling, and fixed assets, coordinating material flow, and assisting with day-to-day inventory control processes. This role provides hands‑on support for cycle counts, data entry, reconciliation, and reporting, helping ensure materials, equipment, and assets are available, properly tracked, and accounted for across the facility to support production and business operations. This position offers growth potential within the inventory function for the right candidate.

Duties

• Support day-to-day inventory activities in accordance with company policies and internal controls
• Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits and reconciliation of discrepancies under the direction of the Inventory Manager
• Enter and maintain accurate inventory records within the ERP system, including receipts, transfers, and adjustments
• Assist in researching inventory variances and help implement corrective actions as directed
• Use Excel to compile, organize, and update inventory data to support reporting and analysis
• Assist with maintaining inventory tracking systems, including QR code or similar tracking processes
• Maintain a complete inventory of all equipment, tooling, and fixed assets across the facility, including Maintenance department equipment and tools not currently tracked outside of MaintainX
• Inventory and maintain accurate records of TxLok equipment and associated parts
• Help monitor production schedules and material requirements to support timely availability of inventory
• Prepare routine inventory reports and assist with tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) for management review
• Communicate and coordinate with Production, Procurement, Sales, Administration, and Finance to support inventory needs
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory accuracy and process optimization
• Provide basic purchasing support to Procurement, such as gathering vendor pricing information
• Help gather contractor quotes for projects, repairs, and operational needs as directed
• Assist with coordinating on-site contractors and service providers as directed by the Inventory Manager or Production
• Provide general operational support across the plant as needed to assist with ongoing projects and business needs
• Perform other inventory-related duties as assigned by the Inventory Manager

Physical / Plant Environment

• This role regularly works on the production/shop floor as part of routine physical counts and asset tracking across Maintenance, production, and plant areas — it is not solely an office-based, ERP-data role
• Exposure to plant conditions typical of a pipe coating facility, including heat, noise, and chemicals
• Required to wear all applicable PPE (e.g., safety glasses, steel-toed boots, hearing protection) while on the production floor, per facility safety policies
• Must be comfortable spending a significant portion of the workday in plant/shop floor environments, not exclusively in an office setting
