Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine seeks a Facility Operations Assistant 1 - Supply Management Services to carry out routine warehouse tasks in a hospital setting. You will break down and restock bulk inventory, ensure accurate stock and locations, rotate stock by expiration dates, and prepare requisitions for hospital and off-site locations.

Qualifications

• Must be physically able to perform duties.
• Possession of a valid New York State driver's license may be required.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand basic verbal communication.
• Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalency.
• Candidate must have a valid Powered Industrial Truck Operator Permit.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience; knowledge of warehouse inventory protocols.
• Knowledge of Medical/Surgical inventory supplies and inventory reconciliation recommended.
• Able to stand for long periods of time and lift over 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Break down and restock incoming bulk inventory.
• Stock items on warehouse shelving in large/heavy cases.
• Verify stock against physical inventory and locations.
• Inspect expiration dates and rotate inventory as needed.
• Fill requisition supply orders for hospital and off-site locations.
• Deliver requisitioned supplies to hospital units.
• Assist front-end desk with nursing stat supply requisitions.
• Conduct daily cycle counts and inventory reconciliation.
• Assist with physical inventory audits of warehouse supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
