Job summary

Stony Brook University is seeking a Facility Operations Assistant 1 for the Day Shift (7am – 3:30pm) in Supply Mgmt Services. The role involves handling routine warehouse tasks, stocking inventory, and delivering supplies across hospital units.

Qualifications include physical ability, a NYS driver’s license if required, and 5+ years of warehouse inventory experience; a High School Diploma is preferred. A valid PIT Permit is recommended, with standing and lifting requirements noted.

Qualifications

• Valid Powered Industrial Truck Operator Permit and minimum 5 years’ experience.

• Able to stand long periods and lift over 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Break down and restock incoming bulk inventory.
• Place stock on warehouse shelving; verify against physical inventory.
• Inspect, rotate, and verify stock expiration dates.
• Fill requisition supply orders for hospital and off-site locations.
• Deliver requisitioned supplies to hospital Units.
• Assist front-end desk with nursing stat supply requisitions.
• Support inventory counts and supply reconciliation.
• Assist with physical inventory audits and other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

At Stony Brook Medicine, aFacility Operations Assistant 1 - Supply Management Services performs a variety of routine manual tasks:

Duties of a Facility Operations Assistant 1 - Supply Management Servicesmay include the following but are not limited to:

• Breaking down & restocking of all incoming bulk inventory.
• Place stock to be stored in large and/or heavy cases on warehouse shelving.
• Check all stock against physical inventory to assure correct amounts vs. item location.
• Inspect and verify stock expiration dates and rotate inventory as needed.
• Fill requisition supply orders for the hospital and off-site locations.
• Deliver requisitioned supplies to the hospital’s Units.
• Assist front-end desk with nursing stat supply requisitions.
• Assist with controlling of Materials management’s inventory by performing daily Cycle counts and supply reconciliation.
• Assist with conducting physical inventory audit of warehouse supplies.
• Assist with other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

Required: M ust be physically able to perform the duties assigned.Possession of a validNew YorkStatedrivers license may be required. The ability to read, write, speak and understand verbal communication at a basic level.

Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalency.Candidate must have a valid Powered Industrial Truck Operator Permit and minimum 5 years’ experience; Minimum five years’ experience and knowledge of warehouse inventory protocols.Recommended: Knowledge of Medical/Surgical inventory supplies, working knowledge of inventory reconciliation. Able to stand for long periods of time and capable of lifting over 50 lbs.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position is $37,862 / year.

The above salary range represents SBUH’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The specific salary offer will be based on the candidate’s validated years of comparable experience.
