Job summary

MSC Industrial Direct Co., Inc. is seeking a Solutions Service Specialist in Smyrna, TN. You will manage inventory at customer sites, perform asset upkeep on solution equipment, and collaborate with sales teams to drive retention and growth.

Responsibilities include maintaining stock levels, learning SAP/AS400/Salesforce/Tableau, building customer relationships, and ensuring timely, professional communication to resolve issues. Travel will be extensive.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or sales roles with proven customer engagement.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and computer literacy.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain appropriate stock levels (min/max) to meet customer demand.
• Receive, unpack, and put away products at all solution points of use.
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on solution equipment.
• Use routing software to log and track daily account activities.
• Learn operating systems such as SAP, AS400, ASI, Vending Portal, Salesforce, and Tableau.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customer contacts to ensure solution retention.
• Communicate with key customer personnel to resolve issues related to inventory management solutions.
• Drive product expansion through spot buy and incremental solution growth.
• Promote MSC customer loyalty through solution support and CARE program execution.
• Maintain 6S standards in all solution areas.
• Adhere to safety and compliance protocols.
• Stay current on MSC's inventory management solutions through training.
• Maintain high customer satisfaction ratings.
