Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years inventory control experience in manufacturing, wholesale, distribution or retail.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with warehouse management systems is preferred.
• Forklift or reach lift experience is preferred.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work in cold and freezer environments.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 25 pounds frequently.

Responsibilities

• Monitor system inventory screens to research and resolve discrepancies. Cycle counting, bin audits, line side storage audits.
• Respond to business partner requests by physically checking on-hand inventory and comparing to system.
• Research discrepant inventory and physically locate lost inventory.
• Use RF devices to perform inventory audits and cycle counts.
• Document corrective actions taken and communicate results with team supervisor.
• Communicate issues affecting inventory with direct team, supervisor, and business partners.
• Comply with health, safety, and environmental programs, policies, and procedures.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Provide guidance on corrections to business partners as directed by supervisor.
• Support cycle counting audits, bin audits, and line side storage audits.

Summary:

The Inventory Control Specialist is a key member of the Inventory Reconciliation and Accuracy (IRA) team. This position must handle multiple assignments in a rapidly changing, fast paced environment with frequent direct interaction with other business partners. Working closely with the team Supervisor and other leadership and staff, this position is responsible for Inventory Control activities including inventory system research and analysis, cycle counting of materials, storage bin audits and corrective action for material count discrepancies.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor system inventory screens to research and resolve inventory discrepancies. Cycle counting, bin audits, line side storage audits.
• Respond to business partner requests for assistance by physically checking on-hand inventory and compare to system.
• Research discrepant inventory and physically search for lost/misplaced inventory.
• Use RF device to perform inventory audits and cycle counts.
• Document corrective actions taken and communicate results with team supervisor.
• Communicate issues affecting inventory with direct team, supervisor, and business partners.
• Comply with and support the health, safety, and environmental programs, policies, and procedures.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Identify system and physical discrepancies with inventory and with team supervisor direction provide guidance on appropriate corrections to business partners.
• Provide support as needed with cycle counting audits, bin audits, line side storage audits.

Education and Experience:

• Education - High School diploma required.
• Analytical skills and experience required.
• 1-2 years' inventory control experience in Manufacturing, Wholesale, Distribution and Warehouse, Direct Marketing or Retail industry experience is required. Working in food environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft applications, including Excel required.
• Previous warehouse management system knowledge required, and relevant inventory systems experience preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• 1-2 years' forklift and/or reach lift experience preferred.

• Must be able to work in a fast paced, multi-tasked environment and be available after hours if required.
• Must be able to work in all storage environments including cold and freezer temperatures.
• Medium physical work requirements. Duties will require standing or walking for moderate periods. Periodic kneeling, squatting, or bending along with lifting 50 pounds occasionally and up to 25 pounds frequently.
• Must be comfortable routinely using forklift and/or reach lift at all tiers.
