Summary

The Inventory Control Specialist is a key member of the Inventory Reconciliation and Accuracy (IRA) team. This position must handle multiple assignments in a rapidly changing, fast paced environment with frequent direct interaction with other business partners. Working closely with the team Supervisor and other leadership and staff, this position is responsible for Inventory Control activities including inventory system research and analysis, cycle counting of materials, storage bin audits and corrective action for material count discrepancies.

Working closely with the team Supervisor and other leadership and staff, this position is responsible for Inventory Control activities including inventory system research and analysis, cycle counting of materials, storage bin audits and corrective action for material count discrepancies.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor system inventory screens to research and resolve inventory discrepancies. Cycle counting, bin audits, line side storage audits.
  • Respond to business partner requests for assistance by physically checking on-hand inventory and compare to system.
  • Research discrepant inventory and physically search for lost/misplaced inventory.
  • Use RF device to perform inventory audits and cycle counts.
  • Document corrective actions taken and communicate results with team supervisor.
  • Communicate issues affecting inventory with direct team, supervisor, and business partners.
  • Comply with and support the health, safety, and environmental programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Identify system and physical discrepancies with inventory and with team supervisor direction provide guidance on appropriate corrections to business partners.
  • Provide support as needed with cycle counting audits, bin audits, line side storage audits.
  • Other duties/ projects as assigned.
Education And Experience
  • Education - High School diploma required.
  • Analytical skills and experience required.
  • 1-2 years' inventory control experience in Manufacturing, Wholesale, Distribution and Warehouse, Direct Marketing or Retail industry experience is required. Working in food environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft applications, including Excel required.
  • Previous warehouse management system knowledge required, and relevant inventory systems experience preferred.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • 1-2 years' forklift and/or reach lift experience preferred.
