Job summary

DO & CO in Boston is seeking an Inventory Specialist to monitor inventory movement and ensure efficient procedures. The role includes cycle counts, audits, and coordinating with warehouse and purchasing to maintain stock levels while minimizing loss.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in high-volume food service with leadership exposure, HACCP knowledge, and strong communication skills. This position may require nights, weekends, and holidays to meet business needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality, hotel management or related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in high-volume food service or food manufacturing with leadership experience.
  • Experience with inventory controls and safety standards is preferred.
  • Familiarity with HACCP and food safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory movement and records.
  • Ensure efficient inventory management procedures.
  • Perform regular cycle counts, full inventory audits, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and purchasing to maintain optimal stock and minimize loss.
  • Manage inbound and outbound shipments with internal and external partners.
  • Assist with receiving, labeling, putting away, and distributing inventory; ensure proper labeling.
  • Promote a culture of safety and follow all safety and compliance protocols.
  • Coordinate ongoing training for team members.

We have an incredible opportunity for a dynamic, and experienced Inventory Specialist in Boston!

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory movement and records.
  • Ensure efficient inventory management procedures.
  • Responsible for performing regular cycle counts, full inventory audits, and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and purchasing teams to ensure optimal stock levels and minimal loss or shrinkage.
  • Manage inbound and outbound shipments with internal warehouse/logistics & external customers/vendors.
  • Assist with receiving, labeling, putting away, and distributing inventory and ensure proper product labeling.
  • Promote culture of safety and follow all safety and compliance protocols.
  • Coordinate ongoing training for the team members.
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of culinary terms, procedures, and practices.
  • Flexible and self-motivated with strong leadership skills to manage a team.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with a diverse group of people across multiple departments.
  • Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and general food safety standards knowledge is required.
  • Experienced professional with excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a high-volume food service or food manufacturing production with experience or exposure to leadership roles.
  • Bachelor's degree is hospitality, hotel management or any related field preferred.
  • Ability to work long hours on foot and in environments with varying temperatures.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays) based on business needs.
