Job summary

DO & CO in Boston is seeking an Inventory Specialist to monitor and manage inventory movements, perform cycle counts, and coordinate with warehouse and purchasing teams. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork in a dynamic hospitality environment.

The ideal candidate will have HACCP knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead a team across departments. Long hours and shift flexibility are expected as part of the role.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of culinary terms, procedures, and practices.
  • Flexible and self-motivated with strong leadership skills to manage a team.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with a diverse group of people across multiple departments.
  • HACCP and general food safety standards knowledge is required.
  • Experienced professional with excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a high-volume food service or food manufacturing production with leadership exposure.
  • Bachelor’s degree is hospitality, hotel management or any related field preferred.
  • Ability to work long hours on foot and in environments with varying temperatures.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays) based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory movement and records.
  • Ensure efficient inventory management procedures.
  • Perform regular cycle counts, full inventory audits, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and purchasing teams to ensure optimal stock levels and minimal loss or shrinkage.
  • Manage inbound and outbound shipments with internal warehouse/logistics & external customers/vendors.
  • Assist with receiving, labeling, putting away, and distributing inventory and ensure proper product labeling.
  • Promote culture of safety and follow all safety and compliance protocols.
  • Coordinate ongoing training for the team members.

  • Bachelor’s degree is hospitality, hotel management or any related field preferred.
  • Ability to work long hours on foot and in environments with varying temperatures.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays) based on business needs.
