Job summary

JD International Lighting in Itasca, IL is seeking a Shipping & Receiving/Inventory Clerk to join our team. This full-time role focuses on preparing outgoing shipments, receiving incoming items, and maintaining daily order accuracy and inventory counts.

The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, enjoy working in a small team, and be self-motivated. You will handle bills of lading, process shipments, and keep precise records for billing and inventory control.

Qualifications

• Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received.
• Must be able to lift packages up to 50 lbs.
• Understanding of dock, and warehouse procedures.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and inventory software to maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Receives goods and verifies quality and count of items unloaded from trucks; reports discrepancies.
• Participates in inventory process and daily counts; researches and resolves discrepancies.
• Accurately controls and tracks physical inventory.
• Verifies and records all items loaded for shipments.
• Maintains shipping records for categories including returns and pallets.
• Maintains a shipment data database to update customer orders and billing docs.
• Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions.
• Prepares bills of lading and dray tickets for shipments.
• Transports materials on the shipping dock using a hand truck or similar.
• Loads trucks using a forklift.
