Job summary

Luxury Retail Brand in New York, NY is seeking a Manager of Inventory, Revenue & Reporting to join its finance organization. The role focuses on inventory accounting, valuations, reserves, cycle counts, costing, gross margin analysis, and financial reporting.

Over time you will expand into revenue accounting across multiple streams, with mentorship for broader accounting leadership and potential supervisory responsibilities as you develop.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong inventory accounting experience in retail, consumer products, distribution, or related industry.
• Knowledge of inventory valuation methodologies and costing principles.
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of inventory accounting, including valuation, reconciliations, reserves, and month-end close activities.
• Analyze inventory movements, adjustments, transfers, shrinkage, and obsolescence.
• Oversee cycle count programs and assist with physical inventory processes.
• Partner with Operations, Distribution, Merchandising, and Supply Chain teams to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Perform gross margin and inventory profitability analyses.
• Support costing activities and inventory-related financial reporting.
• Develop and enhance inventory-related controls and procedures.
• Receive hands-on training and mentorship in revenue accounting across multiple revenue streams.
• Assist with revenue recognition, reconciliations, reporting, and financial analysis.
• Participate in month-end and year-end close processes.
• Support management reporting, forecasts, and financial statement preparation.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve reporting processes and business insights.
