Job summary

SPEC Building Materials Corporation, a leading wholesale distributor of building materials, is seeking an inventory and purchasing-focused professional to join our team. You will assist in purchasing, manage branch inventories, and support pricing and procurement activities.

Responsibilities include cycle counts, setting up new products, investigating inventory issues, month-end reporting, and coordinating with corporate and local buyers. Travel may be required as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Inventory management experience required.
• Building materials experience preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with interruptions.
• Proficient in MS Excel and Word.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Dependable and punctual.

Responsibilities

• Review and assist in purchasing.
• Vendor pricing and sell price maintenance.
• Perform branch inventories.
• Process daily cycle counts.
• Setting up new products.
• Investigate inventory concerns and issues.
• Month-end reporting.
• Some travel may be required.
• Negotiate and oversee corporate and local buys.
