Job summary

SPEC Building Materials Corporation is a leading wholesale distributor of building materials, serving commercial and residential roofing contractors since 1973. The Inside Sales/Customer Service Associate team handles order placement, pricing, delivery coordination, and general sales information, acting as the customer’s first contact.

The role involves selling materials at the customer service counter, growing existing accounts, sourcing special orders, and ensuring orders are accurate.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• Strong math and computer skills; ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in building materials industry preferred; strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Sell building materials from the customer service counter.
• Maintain and grow customer base through prospecting and follow-up.
• Source special order items for contractors.
• Ensure orders are complete and accurate.
• Advise customers on inventory levels and pricing.
• Handle cash applications and reporting.
• Answer phones and direct calls; coordinate deliveries.
