Job summary

Huntsville Utilities is seeking a warehouse/inventory technician to ensure efficient material flow for Electric, Water, Gas, and Fiber operations. You will receive shipments, check quantities, maintain records, and prepare materials for crews using forklifts, backhoes, and related equipment.

The role requires at least two years of shipping/receiving experience, a high school diploma, and dependability. On-site work with potential on-call duties and storm-related deliveries is included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of shipping, receiving or inventory control experience required.
• ERP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive, store, issue, and safeguard materials, tools, equipment, and spare parts; maintain inventory records.
• Perform daily cycle counts and reconcile differences to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Issue materials to crews and contractors and document transactions with barcode scanning.
• Verify returned items and maintain labeling and safe storage of stock.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, backhoes and other material handling equipment as needed.
• Make deliveries to job sites during regular hours, on-call, and storm situations.
• Support safety and housekeeping in warehouse and yard areas.
