Job summary

BARK is seeking an Inventory Cost Accounting Manager to oversee inventory and COGS across multiple channels, reporting to the Controller. The role requires building and leading a team of accountants, partnering with Operations, Finance, and IT to improve accuracy and drive automation.

Qualifications

• Experience in inventory and cost accounting for consumer products, retail, or direct-to-consumer businesses.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and SOX controls in a public company setting.
• Experience leading and developing accountants, balancing hands-on work with management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Own inventory and COGS accounting across 3PL warehouses and manufacturing partners with accurate valuation.
• Deliver a clean, on-time monthly inventory close and report drivers of COGS and gross margin.
• Maintain audit readiness, oversee journal entries and reconciliations, and support quarterly reviews and the annual audit.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of accountants, setting priorities and ensuring timely, accurate results.
• Improve inventory accounting through data accuracy, automation, and better processes.
