Job summary

SGMC Health is seeking an Inventory Coordinator for the Main Campus Materials Management department. The role ensures daily availability and replenishment of clinical supplies and equipment within non-procedural hospital areas, acting as the primary liaison to nursing staff and Supply Chain.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with preferred advanced degree in Supply Chain or Healthcare Administration and at least 1 year in a healthcare supply setting.

JOB LOCATION : Main Campus

DEPARTMENT: MATERIALS MANAGEMENT

SCHEDULE: Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift, 7am - 5pm

POSITION SUMMARY

The Inventory Coordinator manages the daily availability, organization, and replenishment of clinical supplies and medical equipment directly within non-procedural hospital nursing units. This role acts as the primary liaison between floor nursing staff and the Supply Chain Management department to ensure clinical teams have the stock required for daily patient care. Operates at the unit level to manage direct floor-level customer service, nursing unit par levels, and hospital supply rooms within non-procedural areas (Med/Surg, ICU’s, Emergency Departments, and outpatient clinics).

EDUCATION

• High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Healthcare Administration preferred
• Valid forklift operator certification preferred

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a Supply Chain role or healthcare supply setting

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Proficiency with ERP/WMS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Premier or Epic/Infor Lawson medical software)
• Ability to utilize email, inventory software, and Microsoft Office
• Ability to communicate effectively with leaders, team members and customers
• Ability to lift medical supply boxes, stand and walk for long periods, and safely operate material handling equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION

Work will be performed in a hospital setting including supply warehouse, office area, and patient care areas. Must be able to stand and/or walk for the majority of the work day. May be exposed to hazardous materials, loud noise, and/or extreme heat and cold. Required to climb, stand, stoop, bend and sit regularly. Must be able to lift fifty plus (50+) pounds. May be required to work occasional weekend and irregular hours during high volume times. Will be required to respond during emergency situations such as weather events, etc. Minimal travel may be required to offsites.
