Job summary

Smith & Associates is seeking an IT Hardware Technician in the United States to stage, test, and repair IT hardware including servers, workstations, and network equipment. You will catalogue parts and ensure accuracy of inventory records.

You will erase customer data from storage devices, reset devices to factory specs on inbound products, and provide regular status updates on purchase orders to Operations. Adherence to ESD, safety, and recycling policies is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of IT hardware assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and repair (Dell/HP/Cisco).
• Willing to work overtime up to 6 hours per week as needed.
• Relevant certifications (CNA, CCNA, A+, MCSA, MTA, Server+, Network+) preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

Essential Job Duties:

• Stage, organize, and process purchase orders in the Teardown area.
• Organize, test, troubleshoot, repair, and catalogue electronic hardware, including but not limited to servers, workstations, network equipment, computers and spare parts.
• Effectively erase previous customer data from storage devices and products, including resetting devices to original factory specifications on all inbound products.
• Provide updates to the status of purchase orders in process, and ensure the expeditious completion of all purchase orders.
• Meet all project deadlines and create various reports as needed, providing frequent status updates to the Operations supervisor and manager.
• Adhere to and maintain ESD requirements in all required work areas.
• Adhere to and maintain all quality, safety, environmental & recycling processes and policies.
• Assist Operations team and other departments as needed.

Experience:

Software Requirements:

• Knowledge of Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Microsoft Access Database experience a plus.
• Experience in SAP or SAP ByDesign is a plus.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs repetitively.
