Job summary

Safeway is seeking an Inventory Control Clerk to handle receiving and verification of deliveries, log shipments, and ensure accurate invoicing. You will operate the receiving system and maintain organized records in accordance with store policies.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication with vendors, and the ability to move products to appropriate areas, while maintaining safety and cost controls. Expect early mornings and weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

• Friendly and courteous with vendors and customers; strong written and verbal communication.
• Able to organize, prioritize and follow instructions in a fast-paced receiving environment.
• Must be comfortable lifting and moving items and operating manual equipment.

Responsibilities

• Receive deliveries and log into the computer; verify invoices against orders.
• Break down loads from vendors and move products to storage, freezer, cooler or sales area.
• Verify costs and inventory using the receiving system; reconcile vendor invoices.
• Maintain invoices and reports; ensure proper orders are accepted and processed.
• Review emails and communicate with the DSD Coordinator; manage vendor invoices.
