Job summary

Star Lumber & Supply Co., INC is seeking an Inventory Clerk to support daily inventory control across the yard, warehouse, and manufacturing support operations. You will maintain accurate records, perform cycle counts, and help with material tracking to ensure efficiency and service levels.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to operate ERP/WMS systems and RF scanners, and teamwork to resolve discrepancies and maintain organized storage. This position is based in Wichita, KS.

Qualifications

• Maintain accurate inventory records and documentation.
• Experience with cycle counts and inventory audits.
• Ability to operate ERP/WMS systems and RF scanners.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cycle counts and inventory audits as assigned.
• Verify inventory quantities and product locations throughout the yard and warehouse.
• Assist with investigating inventory discrepancies and reporting findings.
• Process inventory adjustments, transfers, and corrections within ERP/WMS systems.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and documentation.
• Assist with annual physical inventory preparation and execution.
• Verify receiving documentation against physical product received.
• Assist with inventory transfers between yards, warehouses, and manufacturing locations.
• Monitor special-order and customer-owned inventory.
• Ensure inventory is properly tagged, labeled, and stored in correct locations.
• Support inventory tracking for damaged, returned, or obsolete material.
• Work closely with pulling, staging, loading, and receiving teams to resolve inventory issues.
• Assist with locating missing material and correcting misplaced inventory.
• Help maintain organized inventory locations and clean work areas.
• Support inventory relocation and slotting projects as assigned.
• Enter and maintain accurate inventory transactions in Epicor BisTrack or related systems.
• Utilize RF scanners and inventory software to track product movement.
• Generate basic inventory reports and assist with variance reporting.
• Monitor and report inventory transaction errors or system issues.
• Follow company safety procedures and operational guidelines.
• Maintain safe and organized work areas.
• Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely when authorized.
