Job summary

Astec in Chattanooga, TN seeks an Inventory Control Analyst to track and count inventory and keep management informed of current levels at the Jerome facility. The role involves cycle counting, discrepancy investigations, BOM coordination and ERP usage.

Responsibilities include maintaining cycle count schedules, analyzing discrepancies, and producing reports and dashboards for internal customers. Forklift operation may be required in this office/plant environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of purchasing, inventory control, material handling or cycle counting experience
• Experience with computer-based inventory control software is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Ability to investigate discrepancies and determine root causes
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Forklift experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor the cycle count schedule for accuracy and timeliness
• Conduct cycle count recounts and investigate discrepancies
• Research root causes and propose process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy
• Collaborate with internal teams to correct inventory issues
• Process approved inventory adjustments per authorization requirements
• Perform row audits and investigate discrepancies identified during audits
• Communicate BOM adjustments, changes and errors with Engineering
• Familiar with Epicor ERP and cycle count systems
• Count inventory levels for designated locations
• Participate in physical inventory and assist in final reports
• Write and run reports for management and others
• Work with accounting and outside auditors as needed
• Review open manufacturing jobs to ensure materials issued before closure
• Prepare reports/dashboards to communicate delivery performance
• Operate forklift when necessary
• Maintain obsolete inventory database
