Job summary

FreshDirect is seeking an Inventory Control Assistant to ensure accurate stock levels and support all inventory-related processes at our Bronx campus. You will perform cycle counts, enter data, and help validate expiration dates to minimize discrepancies for timely decisions and efficient operations.

You will work in a fast-paced, cold environment, lift heavy items, use SAP/WMS, and collaborate with teams across departments to maintain quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Requires strong math and numerical proficiency.
• Basic computer literacy required.
• Will need to learn SAP (WMS) quickly.
• Clear English communication; Spanish is a plus.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Must work in cold environments and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled cycle counts.
• Data entry and maintain inventory records.
• Investigate discrepancies from multiple departments.
• Identify and resolve shorted products.
• Check and document expiration dates.
• Scrap items due to expiration, quality, or damage.
• Use Warehouse Management Systems and mobile equipment.
• Work in cold environments (38°F).
• Work in a fast-paced production environment.
• Lift 35–50 lbs continuously.
• Wear non-slip, oil-resistant footwear.
• Work weekends, holidays; overnight or early shifts.
