Job summary

Kelly Services is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist in Taylor, TX to manage parts and materials for a premier manufacturing client. The role focuses on accurate inventory control, cycle counts, and safe operation of forklifts within a structured shifts environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of shipping, receiving, or inventory management experience preferred.
  • Hands-on experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment preferred.
  • Exposure to ERP/logistics systems such as SAP, UPS WorldShip or similar platforms is a strong plus.
  • Able to lift up to 45 lbs. and wear PPE as required.
  • Strong communication, attention to detail, and proactive safety mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving, inspecting, stocking, tracking, and issuing spare parts and raw materials directly to manufacturing lines.
  • Driving inventory accuracy by conducting cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciling variances.
  • Investigating inventory discrepancies and partnering with production teams on root‑cause analysis.
  • Preparing accurate shipping documentation, executing outbound transactions, and conducting final shipment inspections.
  • Safely operating material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Serving as the go‑to point of contact and providing excellent customer service at the Spare Parts counter.
  • Mentoring and training new team members in inventory procedures and SOP compliance.

Salary/Pay Rate/Compensation:$23.00/hour

What's a typical day as an Inventory Control Specialist? You'll be:
  • Receiving, inspecting, stocking, tracking, and issuing spare parts and raw materials directly to manufacturing lines.

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
  • Hold a High School Diploma or GED (required).

  • Bring 2+ years of shipping, receiving, or inventory management experience (preferred).

  • Have hands‑on experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment (preferred).

  • Have exposure to ERP/logistics systems such as SAP, UPS WorldShip, or similar platforms (a strong plus).

  • Can routinely lift up to 45 lbs. and comply with PPE requirements (hard hat, safety vest, steel/composite‑toe shoes).

  • Bring strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to team safety.
