Description

SUMMARY
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of all raw materials and finished goods within our paint manufacturing plant ERP / WMS system. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring efficient production, timely order fulfillment, and minimizing waste. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Must be able to safely and effectively drive a forklift to load, unload, and transport products.
  2. Periodically audit inbound shipments to verify accuracy versus purchase order and/or BOL and properly labeled for put away.
  3. Report to plant management on inventory-related issues and non-moving materials.
  4. Interact with shop floor management daily to resolve inventory discrepancy issues.
  5. Ensure inventory is being properly rotated (FIFO).
  6. Identify monthly slow-moving/obsolete inventory and recommend disposition.
  7. Strive to maximize inventory turns and optimize service to the customers.
  8. Follow all safety rules and assure work practices are in the guidelines of OSHA standards.
  9. Organize and maintain the warehouse, optimizing storage space and ensuring proper handling, storage, and rotation of stock to minimize waste and obsolescence.
  10. Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to validate system accuracy and investigate any discrepancies.
  11. Ensure data integrity within the inventory system through regular audits, data cleansing, and system updates.
  12. Identify areas for improvement in inventory control processes and procedures and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  13. Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
  14. Assist plant manager with the annual physical inventory process.
Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent
  2. Basic Math Skills
  3. Ability to operate a forklift.
  4. Basic computer skills with ability to learn MS office proficiently; Experience in MS Office, Excel Preferred.
  5. Effective communication skills (i.e. reading, writing, verbal)
  6. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  7. Exemplify professionalism in personal appearance, manner, and dress according to acceptable standards set by the company.
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  9. Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
  10. Willingness to work in a non-climate controlled warehouse.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions for this position are in a warehouse environment. The employee may be exposed to dust, fumes, and varying temperatures. This position is a safety sensitive position.
