Inventory Control Specialist Overview:
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing and overseeing the inventory of raw materials, components, and finished goods in a co-manufacturing plant. This role involves monitoring stock levels, coordinating with suppliers, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and implementing efficient inventory control procedures to support production schedules and meet customer demands.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished products.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and audits to ensure accuracy and prevent discrepancies.
- Implement inventory control procedures and best practices to minimize waste and optimize stock turnover.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management software.
- Conduct monthly cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure the availability of materials needed for scheduled production runs.
- Address and resolve inventory-related issues that may impact production timelines.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements related to inventory management.
- Assist in gathering sample materials for R&D testing on a regular basis.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in inventory management and implement solutions to enhance efficiency.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce inventory shrinkage through improved security and quality control practices.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to support overall plant operations and business objectives.
- Abide by safety rules and policies including SOPs and GMPs. Maintain a clean and organized inventory storage area, adhering to safety protocols.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods.
Work Environment:
- This position almost constantly works on the manufacturing floor. There may be exposure to allergens such as milk, eggs, fish, crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, sesame, and soybeans.
