Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist A for the Missiles and Fire Control team in Grand Prairie, TX. You will load/unload, store, issue and deliver materials while maintaining accurate inventory reports and supporting production control.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent with 12 months of warehousing experience, forklift operation, a valid driver's license, and flexibility to work 1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts or weekends as determined by the union agreement.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Support shop floor production and load/unload, store, issue and deliver materials while maintaining production control, cost control, and inventory reports.
  • Collect materials, tools, and blueprints for parts, assemblies, or tools.
  • Move items between locations and prepare documentation.
  • Use SAP to perform material movements.
  • Originate and maintain records and logs.

Standard Job Description

You will be the Inventory Control Specialist A for the Missiles and Fire Control team in Grand Prairie, TX. As a Inventory Control Specialist A, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Support shop floor production and perform all duties required to load/unload, store, issue and deliver in their area a variety of materials, tools, parts, and equipment while maintaining Production Control, Cost Control, and accurate Inventory Reports.
  • Collect all materials, tools, and blueprints required for a part, assembly or tool from the appropriate stores.
  • Perform a variety of material handling duties including loading and unloading, storage, issue, work order transfer to proper work area, and delivery within their own area a variety of manufacturing tools, parts, and equipment.
  • Operate lifting and loading equipment with occasional use of hand/power tools and saws.
  • Use SAP to make material movements.
  • Move completed items from one area to the next and read the work order to that new operation’s appropriate location.
  • Assist shop personnel in the movement of required work in their area.
  • Arrange materials within racks, bins, and shelves to facilitate efficient storage of parts and materials.
  • Prepare and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Use a Personal Computer for checking the status and location of parts.
  • Originate and maintain required records and logs.
  • Verify all material to documentation required to perform listed duties.
  • Utilize and operate appropriate equipment to facilitate the movement of items between locations.
  • May be required to handle hazardous materials.
  • This position is in a union environment that is driven by seniority so you may be asked to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift with the possibility of having to work overtime and work on the weekends depending on business unit need.

Basic Qualifications
  • High School degree or equivalent and twelve months related experience required.
  • Prior warehousing experience.
  • Prior experience operating a forklift.
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Candidates must be able to work 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or "D" weekend shift according to the collective bargaining agreement.
