Summary

The Inventory Control Manager works closely with the Branch Operations Managers, Strategic Pricing Manager, Regional Operations Managers, RVPs, OVPs, and Warehouse personnel to evaluate, plan, and monitor specific inventory levels to ensure accuracy and meet corporate financial objectives. These decisions are optimized based on understanding of the appropriate inventory procedures necessary to support the company's policies, mitigate risks, and manage financial impacts.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include but are not limited to the following. The company reserves the right to modify these duties as needed. All work should be completed with minimal supervision and in accordance with company standards.

  • Manage inventory accuracy and develop standard operating procedures
  • Recommend and coordinate inventory control procedures with facilities
  • Develop inventory quarantine and return processes
  • Implement FIFO and expiration date processes
  • Maintain daily shipment and invoicing within the ERP system
  • Assist locations with facility layout planning
  • Report and analyze inventory data for senior management review
  • Provide item usage data for velocity slotting
  • Implement and manage Inventory Cycle Count program
  • Revise ERP procedures to meet business needs
  • Manage item setup and maintenance
  • Build and lead inventory teams by region
  • Manage year-end inventory for all branches
  • Oversee responsibilities for inventory analysts
  • Support departments with inventory variances
  • Assist acquisition team as needed
  • Represent PetroChoice with integrity and professionalism
Competencies

To perform successfully, candidates should demonstrate:

  • In-depth knowledge of inventory management principles, procedures, and financial analysis
  • Proficiency with computer and IT skills, including ERP and Excel
  • Strong interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, confidentiality, and openness to new ideas
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Attention to quality and accuracy, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Ability to meet productivity standards and work efficiently
Qualifications

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with 5+ years of related experience or training.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents; effective report and manual writing; confident presentation skills.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with probabilities, statistics, fractions, percentages, and ratios.

Reasoning Skills: Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions in various formats.

Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; ERP experience preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Primarily office and warehouse settings, with moderate noise levels. Physical requirements include lifting up to 10 pounds, using hands and fingers, speaking, hearing, and occasional standing, walking, or sitting.
