Job description

This role would be at our Dayton, MN location for 1st shift: Monday-Friday 6:00AM-2:30PM

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as the primary contact for cycle counters and 3PL warehouses
  • Perform regular physical counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Execute inventory transactions in WMS/ERP systems (receipts, transfers, adjustments) Record, track, and report inventory data.
  • Be fully knowledgeable of the setup and functionality of the current logistics systems: ERP, Warehouse, RF Assist DC Leadership in evaluating current processes and system setup to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Train and lead employees in warehouse and office processes; including but not limited to cycle counting, reconciliation, communication with 3PL
  • Work with distribution leaders, Quality, packaging engineers, and other company employees to reduce inventory inaccuracies and increase picker/putter accuracy.
  • Create and maintain slotting of warehouse items; work with DC Leadership on fixed pick and slotting strategy
  • Drive data driven quality improvements leveraging the RCCM process, ensuring containment actions are in place while eliminating the root cause.
  • Participate in and/or lead cross-functional projects and kaizen events involving the continuous improvement of distribution/logistics concepts.
  • Be a change agent and drive out waste throughout the operation using Lean methodologies.
  • Assist with the development of current and future state value stream maps and continuous improvement plans, as well as the implementation of those
JOB CRITERIA
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma
  • associate degree beneficial
  • 3-5 years of experience in logistics/distribution environment
  • 2 years of business system experience related to warehousing; planning; inventory Powered Industrial Truck Experience (Order Picker, Reach Truck, forklifts, etc)
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Combination of 2 years Lean training and practical use in a distribution/warehouse environment: Gemba; RCCM; Kaizen; Value-stream mapping
  • Supervisory experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Experience in inventory control or warehouse operations.
  • Knowledge of inventory systems, spreadsheets, databases, WMS/ERP (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic knowledge of business processes
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Ability to understand cross-functional interdependencies and devise solutions to meet operational and corporate goals
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize RCCM process to improve process and improve the customers’ experience.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective work relationships

Benefits to support the lives of our employees Pay Transparency nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply. Compensation Range: $23.90 - $44.40 Per Hour Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
