Job summary

nVent is seeking a Finance professional to join our accounting team in Minnesota. You will ensure accurate reporting of transactions and support month-end close with reconciliations and journal entries.

The role emphasizes fixed asset accounting, intercompany eliminations, and SOX documentation, collaborating across departments while supporting audits and ad hoc requests.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial transactions.
  • Assist in research and analysis of general ledger account variances.
  • Development and maintenance of standard recurring Journal Entries.
  • Prepare month-end account reconciliations accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Act as a business partner to drive resolution of reconciling items.
  • Maintain fixed asset ledger and reconcile with the general ledger—asset record creation, dispositions, and depreciation.
  • Ensure intercompany transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled for eliminations.
  • Provide proactive analysis and support to the finance team and functional leadership.
  • Coordinate internal and external audit activities.
  • Prepare Ad Hoc data requests and project work as requested.
  • Support the execution and application of technical accounting principles.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial transactions.
  • Assist in the research and analysis of general ledger account variances.

  • Act as a business partner to drive resolution of reconciling items.

  • Provide proactive analysis and support to the finance team and functional leadership.
  • Maintenance of Sarbanes Oxley documentation.
  • Coordinate internal and external audit activities.
  • Prepare Ad Hoc data requests and project work as requested.
  • Support the execution and application of technical accounting principles.
  • Interaction with key segment business partners.
  • Back-up others as needed in the primary accounting center environment to help with workloads as appropriate and to ensure work is completed timely and accurately.
YOU HAVE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance required.
  • 3+ years strong accounting experience minimally required.
  • Experience in fixed asset accounting and intercompany accounting/elimination is a plus.
  • CPA or CMA is preferred but not required.
  • Manufacturing industry experience is a plus.
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with SAGE FAS a plus.
  • Experience with INFOR M3 or a similar ERP software package.
  • Experience with Power Query or Power Automate a plus.
  • Experience with OneStream a plus.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Continuous improvement mentality and desire to enhance business processes.
  • Ability to work and interact with various departments throughout the organization.
  • The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals at all levels of the Organization.
  • The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Display flexibility in regard to overtime during periods of peak activity.
  • Be a team player, a self-starter who is looking to grow professionally, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Pay Transparency nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply. Compensation Range: $76,000.00 - $141,100.00 Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
