Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily inventory transactions and verify correct location and availability.
  • Perform cycle counts and assist investigations of variances; log corrections in IMS.
  • Assist customers with routine inventory questions and data requests.
  • Audit scans and packing lists; request updates from appropriate personnel.
  • Update serials in kits and manage IOs in PDOJ; process QC rejects in IMS.
  • Enter issues for damaged/missing items and coordinate with suppliers.

Job description

General Summary:

Under the direction of the Inventory Control Supervisor and Warehouse Supervisor, provides support to Logistics Coordinators/Clerks and clients to ensure that inventory is correct and that equipment is accounted for and functioning correctly. Depending on location, this position may be responsible for ensuring that equipment and devices are cleaned properly and quarantined for repairs as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties vary depending on location

  • Monitors daily inventory transactions to ensure that inventory is showing in the correct location and available to allocate.
  • Performs cycle counts and assists personnel with inventory variance investigations; corrects or assists other personnel with correcting errors by attaching items to orders in the Inventory Management System (IMS).
  • Assists customers with routine questions about inventory.
  • Audits inventory scans and check sheets for accuracy; requests corrections and/or updates from appropriate personnel.
  • Completes kit swaps by manually updating the serial swaps in the kits and updating the status of serials in Part Data Owner's Journal (PDOJ).
  • Receives in new equipment and replenishment stock; allocates new serials to kits.
  • Enters issues into Harmony system for failed, damaged and missing items; returns failed or damaged items back to customer; uploads Quality Control (QC) Reject Form to PDOJ in IMS system.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition following prescribed safety regulations.
  • Reads customer orders, work orders, shipping orders and/or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed and/or shipped.
  • Handles hazardous and recycled waste materials.
  • Marks materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
  • Moves materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
  • Provides additional Operations, Production & Shipping support as needed.
  • Ensures replacement of disposable items prior to the shipment of demo equipment.
  • Manages consumable inventory.
  • Provides inventory aging and location replenishment analysis.
  • Creates and analyzes inventory reports that document inventory counts, discrepancies and other statistical data.
  • Performs other tasks/projects as requested by management.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to acquire TSA certification (where required).
  • Strong customer service skills; ability to communicate concisely and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong attention to detail; excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with spreadsheets and data entry; proficiency desired depending on location.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize; self-motivated.
  • Ability to manage time effectively to ensure timely responses and completion of tasks/projects; ability to tolerate periods of stress and adhere to deadlines.
  • Familiar with and able to interpret packing slips, enter into the computer the correct information, to acknowledge receipt of the goods into the purchase order and processing database.
  • Depending on location, must be able to fill out bills of lading and be familiar with various forms that are used and required by the major freight carriers.
  • Depending on location, must be capable of estimating weight and use that information to calculate the cost of shipping.
  • Depending on location, must be familiar with proper packaging methods and able to interpret visual aids used to convey specific packaging requirements.
Education and/or Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in a business, logistics or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of six (6) months experience in a manufacturing environment; minimum of one (1) year experience in inventory control.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English, both orally and in writing, to all levels.
Computer Skills:
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and Outlook; proficiency with Access a plus strongly desired depending on location; extensive knowledge of Excel, including functions and pivot tables preferred depending on location.
  • Ability to quickly learn new programs/software.
  • Experience with UPS/FEDEX online software is desirable.
Physical Demands:
  • Sitting two (2) or more hours or more per day; standing and/or walking eight (8) hours or more per day.
  • Four (4) or more hours per day doing computer work.
  • Ability to bend, reach and stoop.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Noise level can be moderate due to multiple conversations in close proximity.
Work Environment:
  • Warehouse environment with occasional office environment.
Travel Requirements:
  • Occasional travel as needed.
