Job summary

Nederman Holding USA, Inc. is seeking an Inventory Control Supervisor to lead a warehouse team responsible for receiving, storing, moving, and counting materials.

You will drive accuracy in stock records, supervise staff, and ensure efficient operation of inventory processes in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include coordinating shipments, performing cycle counts, and collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to optimize stock levels.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage material movements between inventory locations and warehouses.
  • Oversee stock counts and reconcile ERP/WMS records.
  • Coordinate receiving, put-away, and issue of goods.
  • Ensure accuracy of requisitions, shipments, and inventory reports.
  • Supervise warehouse staff and enforce safety and 5S practices.

Job Description

Job Title: Inventory Control Supervisor

Summary: Leads Warehouse team responsible for receiving, storing, moving, and counting materials. Work with their team to maintain well-organized warehouses (5S) and equipment by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

  • Responsible for material movements between inventory locations and between warehouses.
  • Provide and execute solutions for ongoing warehouse facility maintenance, organization, and improvements.
  • Counts material, equipment, supplies or product and posts totals to inventory records.
  • Releases back orders for issue or shipment as stock becomes available.
  • Receive shipments from various carriers, check items for accuracy, and disperse items to appropriate locations.
  • Process receiving documents through scanning.
  • Compiles stock control records and information such as consumption rate, characteristics of items in storage, and current market conditions, to determine stock supply and need for replenishment.
  • Monitor all operational procedures and prepare strategic plans to ensure adherence to all departmental standards and objectives.
  • Perform tests on ERP/WMS systems and recommend improvements to procedure and prepare appropriate reports for all inventory requirements.
  • Compares stock numbers, authorized substitutes, and other listed information with catalogs, manuals, parts lists, and similar references to verify accuracy of requisitions and shipping orders.
  • Verifies record computations against physical count of inventory and adjusts errors in computation or count, or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.
  • Assists investigations to resolve invoice discrepancies, checking receipts, packing lists vs. proof of delivery.
  • Reviews files to determine unused items and recommends disposal/revision of excess stock, such as safety stock.
  • Investigate and reconcile inventory quantities between ERP and WMS systems.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Scope of Responsibility:

  • This job will have periodic access to confidential data including customer quotes, product costs, and company plans, designs, programs, etc.
  • This job follows standard practices and procedures, and is expected to accomplish work assignments with a limited amount of supervision.

Qualifications:

  • Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

  • Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

  • Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory software.

Education/Experience:

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervises employees/warehouse personnel. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Work is performed in an office environment where disruptions occur infrequently.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Physical Demands:

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is frequently required to walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
