Job summary

Peterson Cat has an immediate need for an experienced Accounting Inventory Clerk at our San Leandro, CA location. Working under general supervision, you’ll perform clerical accounting tasks with some judgment and independent action.

Your duties include preparing vendor AP for inventory costs, matching PO with invoices, posting transactions, maintaining filing systems, and handling vendor communications. AAA degree and 6–12 months related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent required.
• 6 months to 1 year related experience.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vendor Accounts Payable, primarily for inventory-related costs.
• Match approved purchase orders with vendor billings/invoices; prepare data for processing payment.
• Compile and post transactions to the Transaction Register and A/P System.
• Maintain Accounting filing systems (hard copy and soft copy).
• Place and respond to internal and external phone calls; process correspondence.
• Perform related duties and functions as required by the general accountants of three companies.
• Identify and reconcile Vendor Account discrepancies.
• Maintain/update procedures for assigned accounting function.
