It’s time to use your skills and passion to do work that matters!**Job Description****Peterson Cat has the immediate need for an experienced Accounting Inventory Clerk based at our San Leandro, CA location.****SUMMARY**Working under general supervision, performs clerical accounting functions where some judgment and independent action is required. Primarily works under guidance of general accounting personnel.# ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSThe following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Other duties may be assigned.* Prepare vendor Accounts Payable, primarily for inventory-related costs.* Match approved purchase orders with vendor billings/invoices; prepare data for processing payment.* Compile and post transactions, to both the Transaction Register and into the A/P System, to designated accounts. These high dollar transactions affect the company assets and inventory valuation.* Maintain Accounting filing systems (hard copy and soft copy) as needed.* Place and respond to internal and external phone calls; process correspondence as required.* Perform related duties and functions as required by the general accountants of three separate companies. Each Company requires different entry/handling methods.* Identify and Reconcile VendorAccount Discrepancies.* Maintain/update procedures for assigned accounting function.# OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS* Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.* Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.* Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with customers/ coworkers, including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.* Respectfully takes direction from supervisor/ manager.**QUALIFICATIONS**To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, safely and in alignment with Peterson’s core values.
