Job summary

Medici Brands is hiring a Staff Accountant, Inventory in New York City to own day-to-day inventory and COGS accounting within the Finance function. You will perform reconciliations, cycle counts, and variance analyses to keep the monthly close accurate and on schedule.

You'll partner with Procurement, Manufacturing, and Fulfillment to ensure costs are recorded correctly, maintain inventory integrity across systems, and support audits with documented schedules.

Qualifications

• Foundational understanding of US GAAP.
• Comfort working in an ERP system; NetSuite fluency encouraged.
• Interest/early exposure to inventory accounting in a CPG/manufacturing environment.
• 1–3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
• High attention to detail with ownership and accountability.
• Self-starter eager to learn and operate in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear communicator who asks questions and flags issues early.
• Excitement about helping build an early-stage CPG company.

Responsibilities

• Prepare reconciliations and variance analyses for inventory and COGS as part of the monthly close.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Manufacturing, and Fulfillment teams to ensure costs recorded accurately.
• Support inventory valuation and COGS accounting in NetSuite using average costing.
• Help maintain inventory integrity across internal systems and external partners.
• Participate in and coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
