Job summary

Medici Brands in New York City is seeking a Staff Accountant, Inventory to own day-to-day inventory and COGS accounting, reconciliations, and cycle counts under the Inventory Accounting Manager. You’ll partner with Supply Chain to keep data clean and the monthly close accurate.

The role emphasizes reconciliations, inventory valuation in NetSuite, liaising with Procurement, Manufacturing, and Fulfillment, and supporting audits. A foundation in US GAAP and 1–3 years in accounting are desirable.

Qualifications

• Foundational understanding of US GAAP and growing exposure to inventory and COGS.
• Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite fluency is a plus.
• Interest in inventory accounting within a CPG/manufacturing environment.
• 1–3 years in accounting or finance roles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare reconciliations and variance analyses for inventory and COGS as part of the monthly close.
• Follow documented close procedures and flag opportunities to tighten them.
• Support day-to-day inventory accounting across materials and finished goods.
• Coordinate with Procurement/Manufacturing/Fulfillment on costs and records.
• Assist with inventory valuation in NetSuite and variance analysis.
• Maintain inventory integrity and participate in cycle counts.
• Prepare schedules for audits and respond to auditor requests.
• Translate inventory data for the Inventory Accounting Manager and partners.
