This position will be located at our corporate office in Hahira, GA.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Inventory Accountant is responsible for leading the processes for measuring and maintaining accurate inventory levels that exist at 14 asphalt plants, four sand mines, five shops, and multiple offices and operational locations. In addition, this role will implement and manage a purchase order system for inventoried materials.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• With assistance from management and other corporate resources, implement a purchase order system for all inventoried materials
• Collect material receipt information from a variety of sources including plant daily logs, supplier portal downloads, and other records for consolidation and recording in purchase order system daily
• Match, review, and approve material invoices for all locations state‑wide
• Maintain reconciliation records for all inventoried materials to validate system generated inventory values
• Collect and organize physical inventory counts from all locations for month end reporting
• Collect and organize drone flights for all locations for month end reporting
• Have the potential for obtaining sUAS Part 107 commercial license and performing drone flights as needed
• Maintain bill of material calculations to correctly report material usages
• Document all processes to satisfy SOX controls
• Support month‑end close process
• Assist and provide information to satisfy internal process control and external audit
• Identify opportunities to improve processes
• Take initiative to understand inventory process and work independently, with support from peers and leaders

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance and/or business/management is preferred, but candidates without a degree with previous experience directly relating to this role’s job responsibilities will be considered.
• Internship or prior experience in construction or publicly traded companies preferred but not necessary.
• Strong Excel skills are highly preferred. Additional custom reporting tools and construction accounting program expertise (i.e., Viewpoint Vista) a plus.
• Strong understanding of accounting theory.
• Highly detail oriented and organized in work.
• Ability to meet assigned deadlines.
