Job summary

Sunbelt Asphalt DBA The Scruggs Company is seeking an ambitious Accounting Intern for Summer 2027 to join our Finance team. The internship offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced construction environment while learning financial operations of a growing asphalt company.

The Intern will assist with day-to-day accounting activities, recordkeeping, reporting, and special projects, developing practical skills in accounting and business operations within a mentorship-driven Finance department.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day accounting activities, recordkeeping, reporting, and special projects.
• Support accounting and administrative processes within the Finance Department.
• Help maintain accurate financial records and organize accounting documentation.
• Assist with project-related accounting and job cost documentation.
• Review records for completeness and accuracy.
• Help prepare reports, spreadsheets, and other financial documents as needed.
• Assist with internal audits and recordkeeping processes.
• Collaborate with team members across departments on special projects.
• Maintain confidentiality of company and employee information.
