Job summary

The Student Conservation Association, Inc is seeking a member to support invasive plant control on National Wildlife Refuge System lands in western Minnesota, mainly within the Big Stone-Morris Complex. Duties include herbicide and mechanical control, mapping invasive locations, and assisting with data management and reporting.

Location is Morris, MN, with a 40-hour work week from October 19, 2026 to May 14, 2027.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Experience safely mixing and applying herbicide is preferred.
  • ORUV operation and trailering experience is preferred.
  • Understanding of FieldMaps, Survey123, ArcPro is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently is preferred.
  • Public Land Corps Authority eligibility (16–30 years, or 35 or younger for veterans). Citizens or permanent residents of the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Control invasive plants with herbicide and mechanical methods; survey, map and record location and extent of invasives.
  • Survey, map and record native habitats where invasives are located.
  • Assist with GIS data management and reporting.

Skills

Valid driver's license
